After Willie Garson’s death, many SATC stars responded on social media, except Sarah Jessica Parker. That is the reason.
The US actors Sarah Jessica Parker (56, “The Stone Family – No Engaging!”) And Willie Garson (1964-2021) played in the hit series “Sex and the City” (1998-2004) and its spin-off films Best friends Carrie Bradshaw and Stanford Blatch in 2008 and 2010. And apparently they also appreciate each other very much in their private lives.
Chris Noth builds a bridge for Sarah Jessica Parker
Because, contrary to many other “SATC” colleagues, Parker had not yet commented publicly on Garson’s death. And for a simple reason that she wrote in the funeral mail from US star Chris Noth (66). Noth plays Carrie’s on-off love Mr. Big on “SATC”.
He shared a snapshot of Parker and Garson filming the first “Sex And The City” movie in 2007. The two arm in arm can then be seen laughing on a sidewalk. Noth commented on “Willie” and a red and a broken heart. Sarah Jessica Parker wrote: “Thank you, dearest Chris. I’m not ready yet.”
Willie Garson died of pancreatic cancer on Tuesday afternoon, aged just 57. In the upcoming series reboot “And Just Like That …”, which is expected to appear in 2022, he will appear again as Stanford Blatch.
Many “SATC” colleagues mourned in public
Actress Kristin Davis (56), who embodies Charlotte York in the series, began with her first acquaintance story on three photos of Willie Garson: “I first met Willie on the creepy night filming of ‘The X-Files’ in 1995. He immediately got me to Laugh. Little did I know we’d have the joy of seeing ‘Sex and the City’ and ‘And Just Like That’ together, “wrote Davis. Willie is loved by the entire team, she continued. “He was smarter and funnier than anyone could have imagined. We’ll be very sad without him.” She also praised Garson’s “fearless commitment to single fathers”. “We often talked about being a single parent through adoption. And nothing has brought him more joy and pride than his son Nathen,” said Davis. “I’m grateful for all the time we’ve had and grateful that so much of your bright light is captured in movies forever. Maybe next time we can do a podcast? We love you forever xoxo,” she concluded her loving mail.
Series colleague Cynthia Nixon (55), who plays the role of Miranda Hobbs, said on Twitter: “We all loved him and enjoyed working with him. He was incredibly funny on screen and in real life.”
Kim Cattrall, 65, known as SATC’s Samantha Jones tweeted, “Such sad news and a terribly sad loss for the SATC family.”
Mario Cantone (61), who played Garson’s husband Anthony Marentino in “SATC” and “And Just Like That …”, shared an homage on Instagram after the news of his death. It said he was “devastated” over the death of his co-star. “I couldn’t have had a more brilliant TV partner. I’m devastated and just overwhelmed by sadness,” wrote Cantone. “You were taken from us all too soon. You were a gift from the gods, sweet Willie. Rest in peace … I love you.”
