The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr (81, “The World”) paid tribute to the late Rolling Stones drummer, Charlie Watts (1941-2021). “We will miss Charlie. He was a wonderful person,” said the musician about his colleague, remembering wild parties together in the 1970s. “Charlie was a great guy and had a lot of fun and he had a harder time keeping the band together than me,”.

Wilde Drummer-Party

As an example of a joint party, Ringo Starr told of a memorable night with Watts and John Bonham (1948-1980), the former drummer of Led Zeppelin (1968-1980, some reunions).

“I had a party in the 1970s and had drums in the attic. Charlie came along and so did John Bonham, so we had three drummers who just hung around until Bonham sat on the drums. Because the drums aren’t like on a stage was pinned, the big drum bounced away from him as he played. ” Ringo described how he and Watts held the drum on the floor while Bonham played.

Charlie Watts died on August 24th at the age of 80 with his family and friends.
