Independent sound from different sources

The quintet is excitingly cast, has neither bass nor piano, but instead guitar and cello as harmony and bass instruments. Mainly music from the new CD “Perpetuum Mobile” was presented, which has just been released by Cracked Anegg Records.

The tracks, all compact, melodic intricacies, are by Simsa, who once again proves to be a talented composer who draws on all sorts of sources. He also guides you through the program with humor. Simsa tells anecdotes from the life of a musician and explains the reference points of his sounds: jazz, rock music, classical music – one or the other dedication is aimed at Schubert and Beethoven – and sometimes folklore from the Balkans and the Orient. Everything is brilliantly intoned, made music and thus experiences a subtle peculiarity that arouses curiosity about the further development of the band. Carles Muñoz Camarero (cello), Florian Sighartner (violin), Andrej Prozorov (soprano saxophone), Heimo Trixner (guitar) and above all the band leader impress as soloists with a cleverly constructed solo in the second part.
