Royals also have a playlist with their favorites: Prince Charle has now revealed which songs are important to him.
The British heir to the throne, Prince Charles, revealed some of his favorite songs on a radio broadcast. The pop song “Givin ‘Up, Givin’ In” by the American soul band The Three Degrees is one of his favorites.
“A long time ago, he awakened an irresistible urge to get up and dance,” said the 72-year-old on Sunday in a hospital channel, as reported by the BBC. The Three Degrees had performed with the song for Prince Charles’ 30th birthday and in 1981 were also guests at his wedding to Princess Diana.
Charles spoke on the program about the role different songs have played in his life: When he hears Barbra Streisand’s “Don’t Rain On My Parade”, he remembers his time as a young lieutenant on the HMS Jupiter in the 70s Years and always think of his grandmother when he hears Dick Powell’s “Lulu’s Back in Town”.
Charles’ playlist, which the heir to the throne put together to thank the medical staff and many volunteers during the pandemic, also includes titles by Edith Piaf, Peter Skellern and Diana Ross. The collection should also be available on the Spotify streaming platform.
