Moderator Thore Schölermann has reported back as an active reservist in the Bundeswehr. He explained the reason on Instagram.
Thore Schölermann (38) is known to most TV viewers primarily through his moderation jobs at “taff” or the “The Voice” formats. Possibly also from various roles as an actor, for example in the series “Verbotene Liebe”, which has since been discontinued. however, he has now spoken out in an unusual way and published two photos showing him in full military uniform – one looking out from a tank hatch, the other sitting on a bed in a soldiers’ quarters.
The moderator explains what the pictures are all about in a detailed text: “Fortunately, democracy, security and self-determination are absolutely self-evident for us in Germany. So self-evident that we even thought for a long time that we could only do it with words and defend diplomacy.” This is still his wish, but he is convinced that “unfortunately, as a country, we have to be ready today to defend these freedoms.”
For democracy and for his family
In an emergency, it is sometimes simply no longer enough “to fight only with words”, but if necessary “with a weapon”. “That’s why I’m part of the Bundeswehr again, as an active reservist.” Apparently in a tank battalion, as can be seen from one of the hashtags set.
If you want to smile at your decision or don’t approve of it, you’re welcome to do so — that’s exactly “the nice thing about a democracy,” which he intends to defend with weapons if necessary. In the comment column, he mostly gets respect, recognition and encouragement for his post, including from Jana Ina Zarrella (45). When a user commented on Schölermann’s wife Jana (35) and her one-year-old daughter, the moderator replied: “I’m doing it exactly for her!”
