People’s Choice Awards: Honorary Award: Ryan Reynolds is named “Icon”.

Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lopez already have the title, now the native Canadian is following in their footsteps.

“Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds (46) will receive the honorary award as “Icon” of the year at the People’s Choice Awards in December. This was announced by the awardees of the audience prizes.

Everything Reynolds does is “iconic,” so it just makes sense to tag him as a “People’s Icon,” it jokingly posted on Instagram. Last year, Oscar winner Halle Berry was honored for her services to film and television and for her social commitment. Past Icon honorees include Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lopez.

Born in Canada, Reynolds began his Hollywood career with films such as Blade: Trinity (2004) and Amityville Horror (2005). In 2009 he shot the romantic comedy “Self is the Bride” with Sandra Bullock before he also shone as a superhero with “Green Lantern” or “Deadpool”. He recently announced “Deadpool 3” for 2024 with a funny video together with Hugh Jackman. Reynolds is married to US actress Blake Lively and they are expecting their fourth child.

Since 1975, the nominees and winners of the People’s Choice Awards in dozens of film, television and music categories are voted solely by fans. Hollywood stars like Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lopez, Dwayne Johnson, Harry Styles, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are among the nominees this year. The trophies will be presented at a live show in Santa Monica, California on December 6th.
