Duchess Meghan wore a dark red autumn outfit when she visited Harlem in New York. Her look was reminiscent of Michelle Obama.
Was Duchess Meghan (40) inspired by Michelle Obama (57)? The wife of Prince Harry (37) visited the PS 123 Mahalia Jackson School in the New York borough of Harlem on Friday (September 24). Despite the summer temperatures on site, she decided on an autumn outfit. She wore loosely falling, dark red trousers from Loro Piana and combined them with a matching, short-cut coat.
Was Michelle Obama an inspiration?
Her choice of clothes is reminiscent of the outfit worn by ex-first lady Michelle Obama at the inauguration of US President Joe Biden (78) in January. Barack Obama’s wife (60) wore a similar combination of high-cut trousers and a long coat. Her outfit was tone on tone too.
“She makes me feel like Michelle on inauguration and I like that,” wrote, adding the hashtag #flawless. Other users were critical: They described the look as “very messy” and even a “huge mistake”.
Fashion model Lady Diana
In terms of fashion, the Duchess seems to have another role model: Lady Diana (1961-1997). On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Meghan and Harry met Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield (68). The 40-year-old chose a beige coat and a black top for the occasion. Diana was often photographed in these shades.
For the first time since the birth of their daughter Lilibet in June, Harry and Meghan apparently want to be seen in public again at a major event. On Saturday (September 25th) they are supposed to take part in the “Global Citizen Live” in New York’s Central Park. That’s what the organization writes.
