Xabier Díaz arrives with his trio from Spain to the CCK

Díaz, who offers the concert accompanied by Robert Grandal in accordion and Ivan Costa in hurdy-gurdy, he comes from editing the album As catedrais silenciadas, in which he tackles rhythms and dances from his country such as the pasodoble, the jota, the alalá, the ribeirana and the muiñeira.

Xavier Diaz is one of the proper names of traditional Galician music. He was part of the famous group Berrogüetto between 2008 and 2014. At the same time, he participated with Galician Guadi, Xose Lois Romero Y William Fernandez in the project to EverySingingwith which they released two albums.

He has received numerous awards for his work, such as the Independent Music Award for Best Galician Album in 2016, the Martín Códax Awards in the Traditional Music Section 2016 and 2020 or the Rebulir Award for Galician Culture 2021 in the Music category. As Catedrais Silenciadas is his third work with Adufeiras de Salitre, after The Tambourine Man and Noró.

His performances have taken him to many countries in Europe, Africa and America. Among others, he has performed in Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Uruguay, Germany, Scotland, England, France, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Holland and Algeria, among others.
