It was previously reported that Fuchs wrote the script for the series’ first episode, based on a story he co-wrote with the Muschiettis. Andy directed the two new films and Barbara produced them. Fuchs was co-producer of It: Chapter Two.

Fuchs and Kane will executive produce along with the Muschiettis, with Andy expected to direct the first installment of the series. The Muschiettis are executive producers under their Double Dream production banner.

Fuchs is primarily known for his work in feature films, having worked on screenplays or stories for the big screen such as “Wonder Woman,” “Pan,” “Ice Age: Continental Drift,” and “I Still See You.”

Kane’s recent writing credits include shows like “Moonhaven” and “Tokyo Vice.” He has also written multiple episodes of shows like “Warrior,” “Black Sails,” and “Fringe.”

The two new movies “Item” Collectively grossing more than $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office since its release, the second film is set 27 years after the events of the first, with a new adult cast replacing the children in the first part. “Item” was previously adapted into a two-part miniseries for ABC in 1990, featuring the iconic performance of Tim Curry like Pennywise.
