Star Wars partners with the world’s most renowned anime studio

The fans of both worlds They’ve been hoping for a collaboration between the two companies ever since Star Wars launched its “Visions” series of shorts. It, which is available on Disney +, includes short films made by seven japanese animation studios and based on the world created by George Lucas. A second season will be out in 2023 with the participation of producers from more countries, but it is unknown if that is the project in which Ghibli will participate.

The world of Star Wars and Japan are connected from the very conception of the saga most famous of all time. George Lucas based much of his films on the Eastern tradition and in Akira Kurosawa’s filmsstyle that has lasted in the franchise until today and for what Visions was a project that connected very well with the saga.

Studio Ghibli was founded in 1985 by directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata. and producer Toshio Suzuki. Since then they have produced animation hits like My Neighbor Totoro, The Amazing Castle Vagabond, Grave of the Fireflies and, the Oscar winner, Spirited Away. All of the studio’s films are currently available on Netflix.
