Was ex-tennis star Boris Becker insulted and degraded in a contribution to the RTL program “Pocher – dangerously honest”? The court is not convinced of the allegations.
Former tennis star Boris Becker failed in court with his injunction action against TV comedian Oliver Pocher. The Offenburg district court decided on Tuesday that Becker’s personal rights would not be violated by a television contribution by the comedian, as a spokeswoman said after a hearing. A television report from the RTL program “Pocher – dangerously honest” from October 2020 was disputed in court. According to his Offenburg lawyer Samy Hammad, Becker demanded that the report be no longer broadcast and deleted from the Internet.
According to the court, the publication is possible because it deals with “portraits of contemporary history”. It also explicitly mentioned the concerns of freedom of speech and freedom of broadcasting. The judgment is not yet final.
