Presenter Günther Jauch does not look at any of his “Who wants to be a millionaire?” programs afterwards. He wants to protect himself.
Günther Jauch (66) has been moderating the RTL quiz show “Who wants to be a millionaire?” since 1999. However, he does not watch the episodes again afterwards. “When I see afterwards how I’m gesticulating, how I’m sitting crookedly, how I can’t finish sentences. Then I’m not satisfied with myself,” he explains. And he adds: “In order not to burden myself with unnecessary complexes, I never watch my show.”
Popular presenter, popular show
In September 1999, 23 years ago, Jauch started his long-running TV hit “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”. So far, 16 candidates have achieved the declared goal of cracking the million dollar question.
With wit and enthusiasm, the popular presenter still leads through the quiz show today. In 2019 he revealed in an interview with “n-tv” how he assesses his future as a “WWM” presenter: “The next anniversary would be in five years, then I’ll slowly be approaching 70. It’s difficult for me imagine, but I just let myself be surprised.”
