In that sense, Smith tried to dig deeper on his feelings about it: “I was that little boy who saw his dad hit his mom. Eventhe actor shared an anecdote how he had to face the consequences of his actions with his family. “My nephew is nine and he is a very sweet boy. We were at my house and he wanted to stay and see me at the awards. He was holding my Oscar and he just asked me, ‘Uncle Will, why did you hit that man?’ And I was like: ‘Shit. Are you going to do Oprah’s for me?'” Smith recounted.

The Oscars reintroduce the eliminated categories

This Tuesday it was confirmed that the 23 categories of the Oscar Awards will be delivered live during the 2023 ceremony. This was confirmed by the new CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Bill Kramer.

For the 2022 ceremony, eight categories were eliminated from the ceremony and delivered separately, causing controversy in Hollywood. These were: Best Soundtrack, Makeup and Hairstyle, Documentary Short, Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Animated Short, Best Short Film and Best Sound.
