As published by the BBC news channel portal, McVie died in a hospital in the company of his family, according to a statement.
“We would like everyone to hold Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible human being and universally loved, revered artist”said the family statement, quoted by the BBC.
McVie entered Fleetwood Mac in 1970 as keyboard player and singer. In 1998 she left the formation, to return in 2014.
The point of greatest success for the band was in 1977, when they released “Rumours”. The singer-songwriter had been married since 1969 to the group’s bassist, John McViefrom whom he romantically separated, although they continued as friends and groupmates.
As a soloist, McVie released four albums: “Christine Perfect”; “Christine McVie”; “In the Meantime” and “Lindsey Buckingham-Christine McVie”beside Lindsey Buckingham.
