He was arguably the wildest musician of the noughties: Pete Doherty made headlines in those days with his drug crashes and public affairs. After the former enfant terrible had recently calmed down, Doherty surprised a few days ago with the news of his engagement. And only two days later, on Thursday, the marriage to Katia de Vidas followed.
The two have been a couple since 2012 and also share musical interests: Katia de Vidas is a keyboardist and plays with the 42-year-old in the band Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres. The couple has been living in France for some time. At the Domaine Saint Clair hotel in the French city of Étretat, the two have now said yes. The ceremony took place in a small group, photos show the bride in white and the husband in a dark suit.

The Briton attended several withdrawal treatments, meanwhile moved to Hamburg and returned to the Libertines in 2015. By now, it seemed, he had got a grip on his life. “I haven’t used heroin in 2.5 years,” Doherty said in a recent interview with BBC Scotland.
