Erling Haaland versus Mats Hummels: style duel during the summer break

Striker Erling Haaland recently astonished with his personal taste in fashion. Instead of the BVB jersey, he wears exclusive designer creations during the summer break. His team colleague Mats Hummels is now following suit.

It all started a few hours after the last Bundesliga match: At the end of May, professional soccer player Erling Haaland flew to Monaco in a private jet. The BVB star posted a photo of it on his Instagram account. His goal: the legendary Formula 1 Grand Prix. But it wasn’t the travel destination or the comfortable plane that caused a stir, no, it was Haaland’s outfit. For his contribution, the 20-year-old posed in a red and white striped two-piece suit. “Pajamas,” some commented. In fact, the look comes from Dolce & Gabbana and costs around 2000 euros including shoes.

The post was marked “I like” almost 1.7 million times. Haaland’s BVB colleague Mats Hummels also placed a heart – and is now following suit. After the German national soccer team has left the European Championship, Hummels is with his family in Munich. It was there that his most recent Instagram snapshot was taken, showing him in a beige shirt and matching pants. “If you spend too much time on Erling Haaland’s Instagram account this summer,” commented Hummels on his attempt to catch up with his BVB colleague in terms of fashion.

Erling Haaland comments on outfit by Mats Hummels

Hummels did not reveal which designer his outfit came from and which price range it was in. His wife Cathy commented: “Wow who found the outfit?” To do this, she put a gritting smiley face, which means something like: “It wasn’t me.” Haaland himself wrote about his club colleague’s style offensive: “Not bad. You look sharp.”

If Mats Hummels really wants to play in a fashionable league with Erling Haaland, he has to stick to it. Because the Norwegian has shown himself in numerous flashy – and expensive – designer creations in recent weeks. Sometimes he wore Louis Vuitton from head to toe, then again Dolce & Gabbana. His outfits often cost several thousand euros. In terms of style, the result is clear so far: Haaland 1: Hummels 0.
