Lena Meyer-Landruth: Zoff with Elton about the “correct” UN rules

Fancy a game of Uno with Lena Meyer-Landrut and Elton? Think again! In the ARD quiz show “Who knows something? XXL”, the two of them got into each other’s hair because of the rules.

It all started quite harmlessly. Lena Meyer-Landrut was a guest on Saturday evening in the XXL edition of the ARD quiz show “Who knows something?”, In which the comedian Bernhard Hoëcker and presenter Elton each form rate duos with a prominent guest. During the initial chat, host Kai Pflaume wanted to know from the ESC winner whether she likes to play board games and whether she can lose well?

Lena briefly hinted that she apparently doesn’t really care about losing (“The mood is tilting, the kinge is dipping …”), before revealing that she especially likes to play the card game Uno “very, very much”. Apparently that was enough of a keyword for Elton. In the style of a schoolboy, he answered and asked a question with serious consequences in a slightly provocative tone: “But how do you play Uno? According to right or wrong rules?”

Lena Meyer Landrut: “What are wrong rules?”

With that he already had Lena. “What are the wrong rules? I’m already getting mad,” replied the singer, to the delight of fellow candidates and the audience. Show host Pflaume wanted to moderate, but Lena “threatened”: “We’ll play Uno later!” The two quickly went into detail.

“The normal rules say,” said Elton, “that with ‘take two’ you mustn’t put ‘take two’ on it again …” “Oh come on!” Black is allowed, “Elton finished his sentence, while the 30-year-old knocked on the table and closed her eyes, slightly annoyed. Kai Pflaume had nothing more to report, Lena ignored him. “First of all – seriously, Elton, really! – if you have a seven you can choose who to swap cards with, if you get a zero you have to pass the cards on, then you can – of course! – put a +2 on a +2 (Elton: “No!”) And you can also put a +2 on a +4, if the person who put a +4 wants red and you have a red +2, then of course you can put that. “

Elton: “That’s totally stupid”

A description of the rules that made Elton simmer. “That’s totally stupid,” he exclaimed. And again Kai Pflaume failed in an attempt to calm the dispute. “Wait, wait, wait!” Shouted Elton. And further: “You can also throw a yellow seven …” – Lena: “Of course, but only with the yellow seven on the yellow seven. Of course you can throw in between.” A rule that was obviously okay for Elton: “Ah, okay”.

Kai Pflaume used the moment of relaxation to get his show back on track. Even if the rule dispute did not become deadly serious in the end, he was glad that Lena and Elton did not also form a guessing duo and could have continued to squabble in the search for the answers to the slightly weird questions of knowledge. “We would have already … we would have gone out now,” Lena was sure of herself. In the final of the show, before the prominent guests were allowed to choose their advice partner again, she therefore preferred to stay by Bernhard Hoëcker’s side. How to play Uno “properly”, she wanted to clarify with Elton: “We’ll play a round later …” More threat than invitation.
