The Dortmund neo-Nazi Siegfried Borchardt died on Sunday night at the age of 67. In the 1980s, the right-wing extremist known as “SS-Siggi” headed the hooligan group “Borussenfront”.

As the right-wing extremist splinter party Dierechte announced on its website, the well-known Dortmund neo-Nazi Siegfried Borchardt, better known as “SS-Siggi”, died on Sunday after a short hospital stay at the age of 67. Borchardt was the head and supporter of various racist group rings. In the meantime, other sources and some media have confirmed his death.

For the party Dierechte, Borchardt moved into Dortmund’s city council as its district chairman seven years ago. After extensive protests in front of Dortmund City Hall, the neo-Nazi resigned just two months after taking office. Allegedly for health reasons. He had previously run for the right-wing extremist FAP party, which was banned in 1995.

Siegfried Borchardt convicted several times

Borchardt is considered to be the founder of the right-wing extremist hooligan group “Borussenfront”. With the union of fans of the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, there were dramatic riots in the north of Dortmund. People with a migration history were repeatedly victims of violence and racists chased them through the streets of the Dorstfeld district.

For his crimes, Borchardt was convicted of, among other things, serious breach of the peace and dangerous bodily harm and was imprisoned. In 2018 he was last sentenced to four months’ imprisonment for insulting police officers.
