Public Prosecutor: Right-wing police chats: Six penal orders applied for

In WhatsApp groups of policemen, pictures, videos and audio files were posted, some of which contained seditious content. The public prosecutor has now reacted.

In the scandal surrounding right-wing extremist police chats, the Duisburg public prosecutor’s office applied for penalties against six suspects. The investigations against seven other chat members have been set, said the prosecutor.

Five of the penalty orders applied for at the district court of Mülheim / Ruhr concerned, among other things, the dissemination of symbols of unconstitutional organizations and sedition. The sixth penalty order with the allegation of theft and violation of the weapons law was directed against a police officer of the Essen police headquarters. The “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger” had previously reported on the proceedings.

A total of 25 police officers from the Essen Police Headquarters are being investigated, who have posted pictures, videos and audio files in WhatsApp groups that contain symbols of unconstitutional organizations and, in some cases, incitement to the masses.
