Cervantes 2023 will have theater, opera and ballet

In the María Guerrero Hall, the main one (February): “Los nacimientos”, with a text by Marco Canale and direction by Canale and Javier Swedzky, and the revival of “Obra del Demonio. Invocation XI-Bausch”, by Diana Szeinblum; in the Orestes Caviglia Hall (February): “Potrillo Ben”, authored and directed by Santiago Nader. In the Luisa Vehil Hall (February): “Eduviges’s hands at the moment of birth”, with a text by Wajdi Mouawad, translation by Julián Ezquerra and direction by Cristian Drut.

In Sala María Guerrero (March): the revival of “Algo inútil, explorations around time and space”, by the Compañía Nacional de Danza Contemporánea. Idea and direction by Gustavo Lesgart and “Estaciones Argentinas”, by the Ballet Folklorico Nacional, with composition and musical editing by Lito Vitale, choreography by Alexis Mirenda and Jorge Vásquez, to music by Ástor Piazzolla. “Porteño Autumn” (choreographer: Leonardo Cuello), “Porteño Winter” (choreographer: Laura Roata), “Porteño Spring” (choreographer: Mariano Balois) and “Porteño Summer” (choreographer: Julio Zurita).

In the Luisa Vehil Room (April): “Condolencias”, with a text by Alicia Muñoz and direction by Fedra García. Sala María Guerrero (May): “The heroic deed”, with text and direction by Ricardo Bartís. Sala Orestes Caviglia (May): “The three ages”, with text and direction by Walter Jakob and Agustín Mendilaharzu. In the same room, in June, “The hotel is a body. Four Legendaries in El Gondolín”, with a text by Dani Zelko, based on interviews with Marisa Acevedo, Viviana Borges, Zoe López and Marlene Wayar. Directed by Ana María Bovo, Felicitas Kamien and Natalia Villamil.

María Guerrero and Orestes Caviglia Halls (July): Winter Festival “Come on vacation to Cervantes”, a theater series for children, with scenic proposals from all regions of the country. Sala María Guerrero (July): “Salvajada”, with dramaturgy by Mauricio Kartun based on the story “Juan Darién” by Horacio Quiroga, directed by Luis Rivera López.

Sala Orestes Caviglia (August): “The house on fire”, with text and direction by Ana Kurtzbart, by the group Abraseros.

Sala María Guerrero (September): “Patagonia”, a chamber opera in two acts based on an original idea by Sebastián Errázuriz and a libretto by Rodrigo Ossandón, with staging and dramaturgy by Marcelo Lombardero, a prestigious régisseur who thus returns to activity in our country after his absence at the Teatro Colón, where he was not announced for next year’s season (Argentina-Chile international season).

Sala Orestes Caviglia (October): “Aurora works”, with a text by Marina de la Mata and direction by Leonor Manso. Sala María Guerrero (November): “Potencia Gutiérrez”, with a book, general direction and staging by Maruja Bustamante.

Likewise, the cycle “TNC produces in the country” was announced, which will present in each province the works “Who owns the sea”, a project by Astrid Urban (Santa Rosa, La Pampa), “Otilia Buenaventura”, a project by Luis Serradori (Mount Caseros, Corrientes); “Hot cave, while the philosophers sleep”, a project by Paco Giménez (City of Córdoba); “Hedda Gabler”, a project by Edgardo Dib (City of Santa Fe); “The stables of her Majesty”, a project by Víctor Arrojo (Las Heras, Mendoza); “Deus Ex Machina”, a project by Ezequiel de Almeida (Mar Azul, Buenos Aires); and “Los lugares cambian”, a project by Rodolfo Pacheco (San Salvador de Jujuy).
