Fritz Puppel played guitar with the band City for 50 years. At the end of the year the band wants to break up. But he already has plans for the time after that.
City guitarist Fritz Puppel has two big plans for the first time after the band’s dissolution: “I want to jog more and travel a lot,” said the 78-year-old of the German Press Agency. “I want to jog at least 240 times a year.” He also wants to travel long distances. “It all fell by the wayside,” said Puppel, who founded the band in 1972 with drummer Klaus Selmke.
50 years later the band quits. On December 30th, Puppel, Toni Krahl, Joro Gogow and Manfred Hennig will be on stage together for the last time in Berlin. Klaus Selmke died of cancer in 2020.
