January 4 – The Lying Life of Adults (Premiere) – Netflix

This sensitive portrait of Giovanna’s early years arrives, from her childhood to her adolescence in the 90s, with the contradictions generated by her family ties in a Naples deeply divided between the upper class and the humble neighborhoods. But the protagonist will not be alone on this path of self-discovery, in which she will have the company of her daring aunt, Vittoria.

Giordana Marengo, Valeria Golino, Alessandro Preziosi and Adriano Pantaleo, among others, make up the cast of this series that once again brings the work of the Italian writer Elena Ferrante to the small screen, after the acclaimed “My Brilliant Friend”.

The space adventures continue for this team of five elite soldiers with different genetic mutations who, within the framework of what is known as “Clone Wars” in the Star Wars universe, embark on different missions as mercenaries in the company of the young Omega, meeting new and old friends and enemies during his travels.

Created by Dave Filoni, one of the most famous names currently in the company created by George Lucas, the animated strip will return with 16 episodes that can be seen weekly every Wednesday.

January 13 – Servant (Season 4 – Finale) – Apple TV+

Produced by M. Night Shyamalan, one of the biggest names in the suspense genre, the fourth and final season of the psychological thriller “Servant” promises an emotional conclusion to the story of a grieving married couple and a mysterious nanny who arrives to put her life even more upside down.

Created by Tony Basgallop, with Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free and Rupert Grint as protagonists, the proposal for the Apple TV + platform will present a weekly episode.

January 13 – Hunters (Season 2 – Finale) – Amazon Prime Video

Three years after its release comes the second installment of this visceral story about a group of American Nazi hunters in the 1970s, led by Al Pacino in the role of a Holocaust survivor, now faced with the challenge of catching Adolf himself. Hitler (Udo Kier).

The renowned Jennifer Jason Leigh along with Tommy Martinez and Emily Rudd join the cast, which also returns Logan Lerman, Lena Olin, Josh Radnor, Tiffany Boone, Carol Kane, Louis Ozawa, Kate Mulvany and Dylan Barker, among more.

January 15 – The Last Of Us (Premiere) – HBO and HBO Max

Based on the multi-award-winning video game from the PlayStation label -one of the best-selling games in history-, it stars the Chilean Pedro Pascal and the British Bella Ramsey in the roles of a smuggler and the young woman who must escort through a United States post-apocalyptic, threatened by a fungus capable of turning humans into murderous “zombies”.

Its high level of production and special effects are not the only arguments to avoid the so-called “curse” that haunts adaptations of successful video games, but perhaps the two names responsible for having shaped it: none other than Craig Mazin, creator of the multi-award-winning “Chernobyl”, and Neil Druckmann, author of the title for the console.

The adolescent adventures of the remembered “That 70’s Show” return a generation later, set in the nineties and led by Leia, daughter of Eric and Donna, the original leading couple. It will be on a visit to her grandparents’ house, where it all began long ago, that the young woman will find new friends in the fictional town of Point Place.

Kurtwood Smith, Debra Jo Rupp, Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher and Wilmer Valderrama -all from the predecessor strip- will be part of the sitcom, along with Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi and Sam Morelos.

January 20 – Fauda (Season 4) – Netflix

The successful dramatic and action strip created by Avi Issacharoff -inspired by his own time in the Israeli Defense Forces- returns with a huge display on international stages where the protagonist, Doron, a retired veteran agent, must capture Abu-Ahmed, a Hamas militant that the world thought was dead.

Itzik Cohen, Rona-Lee Shimon, Idan Amedi, Doron Ben David, Yaacov Zada ​​Daniel and Meirav Shirom return for this season, which is joined by new performers such as Inbar Lavi, Mark Ivanir and Amir Boutrous, among others.

January 27 – Shrinking (Premiere) – Apple TV+

Jason Segel, remembered for his role in “How I Met Your Mother”, embodies in this ten-episode comedy a grieving therapist who begins to break the rules of his profession and express to his patients, openly, what he thinks of them and their situations. But the move will not only completely change the lives of his patients, but also hers.

Harrison Ford himself is also part of the production -in what is his second main role for television, along with the also upcoming “1923”-, in the company of Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie and Lukita Maxwell .

January 29 – 1923 (Premiere) – Paramount+

Once again Harrison Ford, this time in a duo with Oscar winner Helen Mirren, star in this prequel to the popular western series “Yellowstone”. The story will return to the origins of the Dutton family, owner of one of the largest ranches in Montana, in times of pandemics and droughts against the background of Prohibition and the Great Depression.

Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves and Jerome Flynn complete the cast of the series, created by renowned writer-producer Taylor Sheridan.
