- The data for Austria come from Ministry of Health (BMSGPK) and from Ministry of the Interior (BMI) as well as from the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES). The data is updated daily as soon as the current case numbers from Crisis management sent to the Ministry of the Interior in the Operations and Coordination Center (EKC) and published by the latter. This usually happens between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. AGES obtains its data from the epidemiological register of residents (EMS). The EMS is the official register in which the district authorities and laboratories enter. Entries can be delayed, especially in the morning. The figures can therefore differ from those of the ministries.
- The international data come from the US Johns Hopkins University. The numbers are updated once a day – this usually happens between midnight and 6 a.m.

SARS-CoV-2: Scientific name of the coronavirus
Confirmed cases: Total number of people tested positive (laboratory-confirmed cases)
Active cases: Confirmed cases minus deceased and recovered patients
Recovered: Recovered people who have previously tested positive
Deaths: Deceased people who have tested positive, regardless of whether they died as a result of the viral disease or from a potentially different cause of death
7 day incidence: Number of confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the last seven days
PCR-Test: The abbreviation PCR stands for polymerase chain reaction and describes the common detection method of a corona infection. The genetic material of the coronavirus is searched for from smears from the mouth, nose or throat. The test assesses the current situation and says nothing about the stage of the disease.
