Singer Peter Maffay (73) appreciates his friend and colleague Leslie Mandoki (70) not only for his passion for music but also for his cooking skills. “Leslie’s cooking skills are at least as high in format as his musical ventures,” said Maffay of the German Press Agency on Saturday evening at the celebration of Mandoki’s 70th birthday in Munich.
“Hungarian cuisine is full of wonderful things; Leslie comes from Hungary, I come from Transylvania, it’s actually next door” – also culturally and culinary, he said. “Whenever it smells good over the fence at Mandoki’s, then we make representations.” Maffay and Mandoki both live in Tutzing on Lake Starnberg.
