Marteria has a great love for football. In an interview, however, he described his sport as “poisoned”.
Today he is on stage as a rapper, once Marteria (38) showed his skills on the football pitch. In an interview with “Playboy” (November issue), the 38-year-old described his sport as “poisoned” and explained that he was no longer interested in football. People no longer played out of honor. “They don’t go to the Olympics for their country because they don’t earn anything there – it’s so boring,” explains Marteria.
As a teenager, Marteria, bourgeois Marten Laciny, was the captain of all youth teams at FC Hansa Rostock in his home country. As a right-back, he was also a regular for the U-15, U-16 and U-17 national teams. He remains loyal to his parent club as a fan to this day. “We’re just a great club with awesome fans and a great community. Hansa is not just about football. Hansa is much more to me, it’s identity.”
Marteria: “My son can do what he wants”
The rapper has also tried his hand at being a model and actor in the past. Unlike playing football, he doesn’t regret the end of these activities. “They always say: he used to be a footballer, model and actor, but that sounds more blatant than it was. I quit football, I did modeling for a year. In acting, I had hundreds of auditions and never got a role. I just screwed it up. ” His music career only slowly got going at the age of 28 – “Before that, I received unemployment benefits for a few years,” explains Marteria. What if the son wanted to follow in his footsteps in one of the areas? “My son can do what he wants. I think good parents show that they support their child. Regardless of the form.” On October 15th, Marteria’s new album “5th Dimension” will be released. “Every song is something very special to me,” said the rapper in a statement on the release. “It’s as if I’ve found myself again. This is how I want to hear myself, and this is how I should be remembered.”
