Bohlen was born in Berne in 1954. He graduated from high school and studied business administration. Early on he tried his hand at being a composer and producer. The big breakthrough came in 1984 with Modern Talking. Together with Thomas Anders, Bohlen made catchy pop music in English, which was also very successful internationally. When they broke up in 2003, the duo had sold 120 million records. From 2002 to 2021 Dieter Bohlen was a juror on the casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, from 2007 to 2021 also on “Das Supertalent”.
A brief marriage to Verona Feldbusch
As a celebrity, Bohlen is always in the public eye with his private life. He is the father of six children with three different women. He married twice. The second marriage with Verona Pooth, then still Feldbusch, came in 1996 just four weeks after the wedding, the official divorce a year later. Since 2006, Bohlen has been in a relationship with Carina Walz, 30 years his junior, with whom he has two children. Talking to her in a club on Mallorca was the best idea of his life, said Bohlen in an interview with “Schweizer Illustrierte”.
