Lali Espósito gave details of his performance in the World Cup final

A performance for which FIFA contacted her only 20 hours before the celebration. “I got nervous… It was an ordeal because they called me to sing the anthem and I was reveling, I was enjoying the World Cup as one more fan and I had almost no voice because I had had a party the day before,” she began by explaining.

Lali revealed that she couldn’t believe it: “My manager told me that they wanted me to sing the anthem at the World Cup final and I started crying and told him I couldn’t do it. So, I was with a group of friends and they began to tell me that I was the woman who was going to sing the anthem at the World Cup final and that I could do it, but I felt that I couldn’t do it, that I had no talent and that I didn’t deserve that chance.”

The next thing he had to do was get ready, but he had serious doubts about even going without any clothes: “I was very nervous because at six in the evening I went to the stores to buy something to wear, because I was in a tracksuit, and Since I am half a dwarf, everything was too big for me. So I would go through all the brands trying on dresses and crying in all the changing rooms because everything looked bad on me and I seriously thought about singing naked with the Argentine flag because I didn’t have a dressalthough in the end I found a beautiful dress and I bought it at ten at night”.

I was afraid of his acting

And it is that the next morning he had to perform in the general rehearsal: “At eleven in the morning I was in the general rehearsal with people from FIFA shouting, gringos saying things that I did not understand, with a microphone without knowing what to do …”.

Already facing her performance, the artist prepared two versions, and was afraid that they would put one she did not want: “I went out giving myself over to fate, thinking of my father and my friends with the Argentine flag painted on my face watching television and it all came down to something as simple as: “I don’t know how I’m going to sing it, but I’m going to sing it with my heart, which is what matters in these circumstances”. In the end they played my version and I was able to sing the hymn in my own tone. Everything went well”.
