Pamela Anderson opens up about her stolen sextape in Netflix documentary

In 1995, Pamela Anderson and her then-husband Tommy Lee rose to notoriety with a stolen sex tape. The 55-year-old now wants to tell her side of the story in a Netflix documentary.

In the 1990s, Pamela Anderson was considered a sex symbol. In her red bathing suit, she became known with the hit series “Baywatch” and dominated the headlines with changing love affairs. But things have been quiet around her for a long time. A new documentary about her, entitled Pamela Anderson: A Love Story, is coming to Netflix.

In it, the 55-year-old wants to tell her side of the story. And of course it will feature the stolen sextape – an episode that brought Anderson notoriety in 1995. The video she and then-husband Tommy Lee recorded on a houseboat was stolen and leaked online.

Pamela Anderson ousted stolen video

A traumatic experience for Pamela Anderson, as she tells in the first trailer for the Netflix documentary. “I pushed the stolen tape out of my life to survive,” Anderson says of the scandal. “Now that this is all coming up again, I’m getting really sick. I want to take control of the story for the first time.”

This is probably the reason why the actress also opens up about personal matters in the documentary. After the intimate video was released, Anderson and Tommy Lee took legal action against it. However, her lawsuit was dismissed because the court found that publication was justified to persons of public interest. In 1998 the couple divorced.

More details about Tommy Lee’s marriage are likely to emerge in the documentary, as well as Anderson’s other marriages: She was married to four other men. “From the start she said, ‘You can ask me anything, I’ll talk to you about anything. I’ll just be honest,'” documentary filmmaker Ryan White told Vanity Fair. The documentary will be available on Netflix from January 31st. An autobiography by Pamela Anderson was published on the same day.
