After the anti-Semitism incident in a Leipzig hotel, Gil Ofarim is now filing a criminal complaint. A hotel employee had previously reported him.
After the anti-Semitism allegations by Gil Ofarim (39) against two employees of the Westin hotel chain in Leipzig, the musician is now filing a criminal complaint himself. That’s what his manager said: “On Tuesday in Munich he will not only testify as a witness to the police, but also make a personal report of all possible offenses.”
Ofarim was previously charged with defamation by one of the hotel employees after the singer spoke publicly about the anti-Semitic hostility towards him. The two employees were on leave for the duration of the investigation. During a guest appearance on “stern TV” last Wednesday (October 6), Ofarim had already stated that his lawyer had advised him to file a complaint.
Most recently, the hotel manager said that the allegations were being taken very seriously and that an external company would now investigate the case. Concrete results should be available at the beginning of next week.
What is the incident about?
On Tuesday (October 5), the Munich singer reported in tears in an Instagram video about the experience when checking into the hotel. “Someone from the corner calls out: ‘Pack your star!’ And then Mr W said: ‘Pack your star!’ And he said, ‘If I wrap it up now, I can check in.’ “
