“Basically, I was like on a pilgrimage.”: Says Harald Glööckler about his time in the jungle camp.
Fashion designer Harald Glööckler advises the participants of the RTL program starting on January 13 “I’m a star – get me out of here!” to authentic behavior. “You should be yourself and not try to play something for the viewer,” said Glööckler of the German Press Agency.
The jungle camp is not a scripted film. “Some try to get attention through drama in hopes of getting more airtime, but they end up being forgotten and disappearing into the void they came from. Most of the time, you only remember the ones you knew before.”
He himself likes to look back on his participation in the jungle camp. “It was a great time. Sitting in nature, without smog, without electrosmog and without the energy of millions of people – instead the wonderful energy of Africa and the jungle: That grounded me very much. I found my inner center there,” said the 57-year-old artist. He was grateful for the “wonderful experience”. “Basically, I felt like I was on a pilgrimage.”
Glööckler will probably not watch the coming season in full. “Probably not. I generally watch very little television. I’ll look at the summaries.” That’s enough for him. “I experienced it myself. Why should I want to experience it third-hand?”
Glööckler was eliminated in the semi-finals of the recent jungle camp in February 2022. He was born in Maulbronn (Baden-Württemberg) and has lived in Kirchheim (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Berlin since 2015.
This year, for the first time in three years, “I’m a star – get me out of here!” filmed again in Australia. It will be moderated by Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen. Among the participants are Lucas Cordalis, Claudia Effenberg and singer Markus Mörl (“I want fun”).
