Tatjana Patitz has died. The agency has now announced the cause of death. Accordingly, the supermodel died of breast cancer.
Tatjana Patitz (1966-2023) died as a result of her breast cancer. This was announced by the owner of the agency The Model Coop, Corinne Nicholas.
“Tatyana is this morning [11.1.] died in California. The cause of death was breast cancer. She is survived by her son, sister and parents. Needless to say, we are all devastated by her death. She was a compassionate soul, kind and generous at heart.”
One of the first supermodels
Patitz was born in Hamburg in March 1966 and was discovered by star photographer Peter Lindbergh (1944-2019) when he was just 17 years old. In the 1990s, she herself became a star of the fashion world, graced numerous front pages and, alongside Cindy Crawford (56), Linda Evangelista (57), Christy Turlington (54), Naomi Campbell (52) and Claudia Schiffer (52 ) to the first so-called supermodels.
Patitz, who had a son, has also appeared in films, including 1993’s ‘The Cradle of the Sun,’ in which she starred opposite Sean Connery (1930-2020). She was also seen in the music video for George Michael’s (1963-2016) song “Freedom! ’90”.
