Twitter boss Elon Musk has lost more fortune than anyone before him: according to the Guinness Book of Records 173 billion euros!
He would certainly have gladly renounced this world record. Twitter and Tesla boss Elon Musk (51) has suffered the greatest loss of assets of all time. Accordingly, since November 2021 he has made a loss of around 182 billion dollars (equivalent to 173 billion euros). Guinness relies on data from the business magazine “Forbes”.
No longer the richest person in the world
Just over a year ago, the South African’s fortune was around $320 billion (297 billion euros). The “Times” named him “Person of the Year”, Tesla shares cost 356 euros at their peak. Then the crash followed, in 2022 Tesla lost $700 billion in market value. Accordingly, Elon Musk’s fortune shrank.
The 51-year-old lost more than three times as much money as the previous record holder, the Japanese investor Masayoshi Son. His wealth loss in 2000 was “only” 58 billion dollars.
Musk also lost the title of “Richest Person Alive” as a result of the failure. The Frenchman Bernard Arnault (73, CEO of Louis Vuitton, among others) now holds it.
