Actually, he secretly wanted to disappear from the scene, says Jürgen Drews. But to say goodbye, there is now another big show. The “King of Mallorca” is relaxed.
Before Jürgen Drews officially says goodbye to the stage on Saturday, the excitement of the Schlager icon is, in his own words, limited. “I’m not nervous,” said Drews of the German Press Agency before the broadcast of his farewell show “For the very last time: The big hit farewell” on Saturday (8:15 p.m. / ARD).
The show was recorded in Leipzig at the end of October. “I’ll definitely watch the show again on TV. I’m very excited,” said the native of Brandenburg.
Andreas Gabalier, Roland Kaiser and Mickie Krause, among others, came to see him off the stage. He didn’t really want a show at the end of his career: “I had planned to let it slowly fade away and secretly disappear from the scene. I never dreamed that I would be able to experience something like this,” he said 77 year old. The host of the show is hit star Florian Silbereisen.
Drews, who is also called the King of Mallorca by his fans, had already announced his departure for autumn 2021. The postponement was due to scheduling reasons. One day before his farewell show was broadcast, the album “Geil war’s … Danke Jürgen!” released.
