Jakob Graf joined “Watzmann determined” as a coroner. The actor can count on the support of his mother.
For his new role as a forensic pathologist, actor Jakob Graf got some advice from his mother. The 39-year-old from Cologne has been playing in the ARD evening series “Watzmann determined” (Wednesdays, 6.50 p.m.) since this week.
“My mother is a doctor,” says Graf. “When I sneeze, she explains to me all the differential diagnoses that come into question. Viruses are her specialty, so to speak. What did we discuss a lot during Corona. As a result, I have enjoyed medical training my whole life. In Tanzania, my mother was responsible for tropical medicine .” He spent part of his childhood there.
Graf, whom viewers know from “Storm of Love”, among other things, was suitable for the role of Dr. Phillipp Hartmann in “Watzmann investigates” a lot of knowledge about forensic medicine: “What was not so clear to me: Germany is a world leader in forensic medicine – even the Americans are squinting at the work here – despite ‘CSI Miami’. I just have that Read ‘Keyboard of Death’. It’s written as exciting as a thriller. I wanted my Dr. Hoffmann to be absorbed in his profession and burn for his passion.”
The actor is currently making a pilgrimage along the Way of St. James. “I tend towards hermitage, towards spiritual withdrawal. I meditate a lot, master several martial arts and have come to acting through stage acrobatics. The Buddhist philosophy is very close to me.
