“Nice Beard, Grandpa”the host began, clean-shaven and noticeably younger. “Why are you so skinny? Oh no, am I dying?” he added. “No, you are not dying, this is how you see yourself in 20 years,” replied the present Kimmel, who this week was confirmed to present, for the third time, the 2023 Oscar Awards gala, on Sunday, March 12.
The duo further discussed how “ridiculous” and “amazing” it was that the show had remained on the air since its premiere on January 26, 2003.
“Speak of Ridiculous”said the older Kimmel, “guess who was president until a couple of years ago.” “Uhh, Flavor Flav,” the younger Kimmel replied, referring to the rapper. William Jonathan Drayton, Jr.better known as Flavor Flavmember of the American hip hop group Public Enemy.
Then added a couple of options: michael jackson Y Matt Damon. Young Jimmy asked how the two of them could be talking to each other. “Now we have amazing technology,” the current 55-year-old replied.
“We have 3D printers, we have electric cars, now we have electric cigarettes. Marijuana is legal,” he added to the guest’s surprised face.
“Are you high right now?” the young Kimmel asked in disbelief. “I’m out of my mind right now.” “I’m so high right now I feel like I’m talking to myself” answered.
The rest of the Thursday night show featured the same lineup of guests that graced the Kimmel stage on his first show: George Clooney, Snoop Dogg and a live performance by Coldplay.
