“Sesame Street” turns 50. That has to be celebrated. For example with a family concert in the Elbphilharmonie. Ernie and Bert sang Sesame Street songs with children.
For the 50th birthday of “Sesame Street”, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg received a special visitor on Saturday: Ernie and Bert sang songs from Sesame Street together with the children and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra. Of course, Grobi, the Cookie Monster and other dolls from the popular children’s show could not be missing. “Sesame Street” started on US television in 1969 and was also broadcast in Germany in the original version in 1972. On January 8, 1973, the series ran for the first time as a dubbed version with German voices. At the end of the 1970s, German background stories and the dolls Samson and Tiffy were added.
