It’s a motley group of local professional musicians who have been meeting at least once a year for the last decade and delivering great music as a “funk club”.
The formation started in the former Welser Soundtheater, after a longer stopover in the Spinnerei Traun, the 13-strong musicians’ combo has now landed in the Posthof with their tribute format.
For the performance on February 9, musicians such as Paul Slaviczek, Joe Doblhofer (both guitar), the keyboarders Oliver Kerschbaumer and Johannes Peham, the bassist Gerald Kiesewetter, the drummer Hans-Jürgen Bart and the Linz musical star Daniela Dett have thematically as well as the star factor Drawn from the full: The musical actor Drew Sarich will sing Michael Jackson’s greatest hits. “Regardless of his notoriously problematic private life, Jackson is the undisputed king of pop,” says guitarist Paul Slaviczek looking forward to the concert. The evening was arranged by Sarich intimate Gerald Kiesewetter. You thought, if you were going to present the music of Michael Jackson, with whom else but Drew Sarich, the former background singer of Liza Minnelli and musical star in New York and Vienna, says Slaviczek. Exciting times await the guitarist with Folkshilfe: “Vire”, the trio’s fourth studio album, will be released on March 31st.
