On Thursday evening, Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon was not let into the Marc Jacobs fashion show by a bouncer. However, she found her way there anyway – which caused displeasure among some social media users.
This video is causing confusion. The fashion magazine “Vogue” has published an article on her Instagram channel in which Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon visits the fashion show by designer Marc Jacobs. Hours after a viral video actually showed Leon being turned down by a bouncer at the show after showing up late at the location.
Lourdes Leon makes it to the fashion show after all
“For the record, Lola Leon made it to the Marc Jacobs Spring 2023 show,” the video caption reads. In the clip itself, the 26-year-old can be seen in the front row of the fashion show. Later she recaps her impressions for the camera while sitting in a car. A discussion broke out in the comments column below the video. “I thought they wouldn’t have let her in?” One user wanted to know. “It’s called a PR stunt,” commented one user who, according to his profile, works for Vogue’s marketing.
But not only the back and forth about the fashion show caused confusion among users. Also the fact that “Vogue” gives so much attention to the daughter of superstar Madonna. “One question: what does she do with her life besides being Madonna’s daughter?” a comment wrote under the post.
Nepo baby
Lourdes Leon is only known for being the daughter of a world star. Like many other up-and-coming artists and celebrities, she belongs to the group of “Nepo Babies”, i.e. all those who are only known because of their relatives. The fact that she is still presented as a fashion connoisseur on the “Vogue” channel caused displeasure among some fans of the fashion magazine.
“That’s my problem with Nepo Babies. She has zero camera presence or star appeal, face full of injections and she has nothing to say. If I worked with ‘Vogue’ and the Marc Jacobs Show – you can’t do a few Putting together sentences that make more sense than ‘Hey ya’ll’?” one user outraged.
Only last year, Leon admitted in an interview that he had “no specific career goal”. She likes to model and dance, she explained.
