Summer 2023 in Neuquén: the emblematic Road of the Seven Lakes
The route of the Seven lakes It’s one of the most emblematic roads of the tourist universe of the Argentina. It is one of the most beautiful stretches of the mythical National Route No. 40which unites, in 184 kilometersto the destinations of San martin de los andes and Villa La Angostura.
What are the lakes on the Route of the Seven Lakes?
- mirror lake: It is of glacial tectonic origin located in the department The Lakes of Neuquén. His name originated from his calm and clean waters that reflect as a mirror the landscapes that are on its shores. Their Beaches are from volcanic sand, rushes and steeply sloping rocks.
- rushing lake: belonging to Villa La Angostura and is within Nahuel Huapi National Park. Its waters are greenish tones and it is generated by water from the mirror lake.
- hidden lake: reaches the border with Chili and is located in the valdivian forest ecoregion. The area stands out for the important presence of faunawith wild boars, birds and trout in the lake.
- Lake Villarino: it is located 60 km from Villa la Angostura and it is large. It is surrounded by forest coihues and mountain ranges.
- falkner lake: remains to halfway between Villa la Angostura and San Martín de los Andes. Has big beaches and on its coast there is a camping to stay.
- Machonico Lake: is colored blue intense. owns a wide viewpoint to stop and observe the landscape, since -unlike others- it is not possible access its beaches from the route. Although it is small, its attention is drawn beauty and tranquility.
- lake lacar: is last of the lakes that you visit if you start the tour in Bariloche. It is the most important one found in San martin de los andes and it is inside the Lanin National Park.

The tour ends in San martin de los andeslocated on the shores of lacar lake. The town has a wide and varied range of services: trekking, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding through the forestarriving to waterfalls, gaps or panoramic views that allow you to appreciate the spectacle that the nature offers in season.
A few kilometers from San martin de los andesis the town of Junin of the Andes that forms a destination that combines introspection through Via Christi and Christ Light Sculpture Park.

Via Christi Sculpture Park
This park is located in the hill the cross and it is the work of the architect Alexander Santana. It is one of the most exciting experiences for visitors. He Via Christi (way of Christ) represents the life of Jesus Christ and culture mapuche along two kilometers of pedestrian route.

The different seasonscalled “soldiers”are squares 12 meters in diameter that are mounted on a platform that represents the sun. Within that circle is the American cross (the same one that can be seen in the pampa ponchos and in pre-Inca cultures), where the four dimensions of life are symbolized: upper sky, lower sky, upper earth and lower earth.
