Ted Danson will star in a series based on the Chilean documentary “El agente Topo”

The Chilean documentary directed by Maite Alberdi, was screened at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and received an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary Feature. It was also selected as the Chilean entry for Best International Feature Film, being a finalist in the category.

In the documentary Rómulo, a private detective, hires Sergio, an elderly man, to go undercover at a nursing home in El Monte, Chile, to investigate a complaint from a client that her mother had been mistreated by the staff. While in the house, the man develops relationships with its residents and discovers his secrets.

The Good Place, which ran for four seasons on NBC, has found a new and young audience on streaming platforms where the high-concept comedy has been prominent. He earned three Emmy nominations for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Danson and two Comedy Series nominations. Danson has since headlined the NBC comedy series The Majorwhich aired for two seasons, and continues to appear on Curb Your Enthusiasm from HBO.

In addition to The Good PlaceSchur co-created and executive produced Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks & Recreations and, more recently, Rutherford Falls.
