A statement about the production reads: “Pornhub, the Internet’s most popular adult entertainment platform, fundamentally changed the way pornography is made and distributed. This allowed erotic content creators to reach a massive audience while making the company billions of dollars, but it also found itself embroiled in allegations including non-consensual material and site traffic.”
“As anti-trafficking organizations seek justice for victims, can the online giant protect those they profit from or is this a new wave of censorship for adult performers who make consensual pornography?”
About the film, the director and producer Suzanne Hillinger He said: “This documentary requires us to grapple with what sexuality and consent means when billion-dollar internet platforms thrive on user-generated content.
“Who has and who should have power in these settings? Our hope is that this film sparks important conversations about sex and consent, both online and in the world.”
The documentary feature is produced by Jigsaw Productions, with Nicki Carrico serving as producer. Stacey Offman and Richard Perello will serve as executive producers.
