Many people have struggled with weight gain during the pandemic because many activities have not been possible. So does the singer Pink. She gained 36 pounds.
In an interview with the magazine “Variety”, Pink admits what was her downfall in terms of weight: sourdough bread. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the singer apparently discovered her inner baker. “Having time off is good for my voice. Not so good for my body,” said the 43-year-old.
“Especially during the Covid pandemic – I gained 36 pounds. All I did was make sourdough and then eat the sourdough bread. Also, not only did I then have hip surgery, I also had a double herniated disc in my neck,” explains Pink her weight gain of over 30 pounds.
But this year, after the release of their new and already ninth album “Trustfall”, they are supposed to go on a world tour. Anyone who knows Pink’s shows knows that they involve enormous acrobatic performances and require a lot of physical condition.
Pink has a great role model: Tina Turner
Pink has long since worked off the pandemic kilos and says herself that she feels “stronger than ever”. A role model is the singer Tina Turner. Because Pink has the same manager, Roger Davies.
She herself says about the icon of the music industry: “I saw Tina when she was 69 years old, in Christian Louboutins, how she ran across the stage like a madwoman with a big choreography. And I thought to myself: ‘Shit. So I did never an excuse again’. I look up to the greats and I want to do that too. I want to keep pushing myself and getting better – a better person, a better mother, a better daughter, a better sister, a better actress, a better Author. And age works against you, right? But at 43, I’m stronger than I’ve ever been in my life. I could kick my 33-year-old self’s ass.”
