According to his own statements, Pur frontman Hartmut Engler can now deal well with the ups and downs in his life. “I know what depression is, what helps me: it passes, and I’m working to ensure that it doesn’t get too high and not too low,” said the 61-year-old singer and songwriter on the private radio station Hit Radio FFH in Bad Vilbel near Frankfurt.
Although he often continues to quarrel with himself, the stage always gives him the feeling of being the right man in the right place. “The stairs up are extremely steep. But then I go out onto the stage and it clicks.” That’s wonderful, said Engler.
