“Sebastián Piana in Red Ink” is the book, in a trilingual version -Spanish, English, Japanese- published by Editorial Mil Campanas and which is available in the main bookstores in the country and on the site milcampanas.com.ar

“He revolutionized the citizen milonga. He was the creator of the candombe milonga, his own style that crystallized in several of his compositions and was incorporated in 1940 by the Orquesta Típica Candombe, the only one that added three Afro-Argentine drums. He also made an essential contribution to the criollo waltz ”, summarized nacho pianoone of the authors and grandson of Sebastián.

The book transcribes, for the first time, the twelve compositions included in the book “Sebastián Piana by Sebastián Piana” (1969), a task undertaken by the Japanese pianist shino ohnaga and that is expressed in works such as “Milonga sentimental”, “Milonga del 900”, “Old blind man”, “Juan Manuel”, “El Pescante”, “Milonga Triste”, among others.

“Piana’s musical world is fascinating. Invincible. We had the enormous responsibility of translating these works onto paper just as he played them.” explained Ohnaga, a pianist based in Argentina and specialized in the study of tango.

The book also includes texts from Juan Falú, Lidia Borda and Susana Rinaldi. Also with the contributions of Ricardo Barrientos and Sergio Lavia, students of Sebastián Piana, who displayed a recognized teaching task. “The history of Sebastián Piana is the history of the tango song”, writes Rinaldi in the prologue.
