Actress Christina Applegate attended what she says will probably be her last awards ceremony as an actress with her daughter Sadie Grace LeNoble. Her illness prevents her from pursuing her profession.
It sounds like the end of a long career: Actress Christina Applegate appeared on the red carpet with her daughter at the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) over the weekend. As with other appointments, she carried a walking stick with her. On this the clear message: “FU MS”. What is meant is “fuck multiple sclerosis”. Because for Applegate, as she said at the beginning of February, the MS diagnosis apparently means the end of her career. According to the 51-year-old, the SAG Awards could be her “last awards ceremony as an actress,” she said.
In an interview a few weeks ago, Applegate explained that the illness did not allow her to fully practice her profession (find out more here). She said, “Right now I couldn’t imagine getting up at 5 a.m. and spending 12 to 14 hours on set.” Her role in the Netflix series “Dead to Me” could actually have been her last.

Applegate was nominated for Best Actress in a TV Series – Comedy for her portrayal of Jen Harding in the Netflix comedy. And although she didn’t win – because Jean Smart won the award for her role in the series “Hacks” – Applegate can still celebrate as the winner.
The actress received a lot of praise on social media for her strong performance and the important message. It was therefore a sign, especially for those who were also affected, that Applegate was showing up in public despite its visible limitations. One wrote: “As a young woman with an autoimmune disease, I can’t stress enough how important it is to see role models like Selena Gomez and Christina Applegate sharing their journey with us and making us feel like we’re not alone. Thank you, for teaching me to be strong and never give up.”
