What is “Succession” about?
The story introduces us to the Roy family, led by Logan (the great Brian Cox), the patriarch and owner of “Waystar Royco”, a multinational company that spans from the world of media to that of theme parks. In celebration of his 80th birthday, his four sons Kendall, Shiv, Roman and Connor feel betrayed when they learn of the decision he has made for the future of the company. From this moment, the struggle of egos, greed, the lust for power and a series of scandals that will shake the company, become the common thread of this drama with touches of comedy.
The fiction created by Jesse Armstrong shows the darkest aspects of the lives of members of a powerful family. Four brothers, a son-in-law and a great-nephew who aspire to find the best position in the race for succession in the direction of “Waystar Royco”. On their way to the top we will learn about their struggles against addictions, their particular vices and how their own egos are often the compass that guides them.
What will happen in the third season of “Succession”?
“This is the day his reign ends,” says Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong), stabbing his father in the back during a press conference in which he was supposed to take the blame for the criminal acts that occurred in the cruise ship division of “Waystar Royco”. Instead, Kendall exposed Logan Roy’s knowledge of what was going on there. “The truth is, my father is an evil presence, a bully, and a liar, and he was fully aware of these events for many years,” says Kendall. “Today I have copies of records with me that show their personal signatures.” And that’s where we end the second season of “Succession”. Kendall has teamed up with that excellent character that is Greg (Nicholas Braun), for key documents proving Logan’s wrongdoing.
Earlier in the episode, when Logan told Kendall that he would be the one to become the face of the scandal, he also told his son that he could never be the head of the company without a “killer instinct.” Eventually Kendall proved her father wrong, showing that he was capable of exposing his father to public opinion.
From here, there are many questions that can be asked about what can happen. What will happen to Logan and his relationship with Kendall? Beyond the public accusation his son made, there seemed to be a hint of pride in the Roy’s patriarch when he saw what his son was capable of. Will you use the incident where your son caused the death of a waiter to teach him a lesson? Although, despite their differences, Logan helped cover up Kendall’s accident, it is a card that can be played this season. How will Kendall’s relationship with her siblings be? Despite everything we already know, the Roys are family and Kendall “betrayed” hers, it will be interesting to know how Shiv (Sarah Snook), Roman (Kieran Culkin) y Connor (Alan Ruck).

The third season of “Succession” can be seen from Sunday October 17 on the classic signal of HBO, at 22 (Argentina time). It will also be released simultaneously on the streaming platform HBO Max. One episode a week out of a total of nine will premiere.
