The doctors are satisfied, now Danish Queen Margrethe II is expecting a longer rehabilitation period after her back operation.
Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II left the hospital about a week after a back operation that she had survived. She was released from the Copenhagen National Hospital on Thursday, as the Danish royal family announced in the morning.
The monarch is now back at Amalienborg Palace in the center of Copenhagen. The responsible team of doctors is satisfied with the course of the operation and the condition of the 82-year-old, now a longer rehabilitation period is waiting, which could extend over the next few months. Crown Prince Frederik (54) will continue to act as regent for his mother until further notice.
Margrethe had her back operated on Wednesday last week. According to the court, it was a major operation after the queen had been struggling with worsening back pain for a long time. The royal family did not announce exactly what was operated on.
