This year, the awards, each endowed with 6000 euros, go to “Superglitzer” by the woman from Linz Melanie Laibl and Nele Brönner (air shaft), “Schneelöwe” by Heinz Janisch and Michael Roher (Tyrolia), “A tree rarely comes alone” by Elisabeth Etz and Nini Spagl (Leykam) as well as Michael Hammerschmid’s and Maria Jose de Telleria’s “who is the first” ( fountain of youth). Another six titles were selected by the jury as special reading tips. “Particular attention was paid to books for young readers,” said Secretary of State for Culture Andrea Mayer. A total of 90 titles from 39 publishers were submitted, and the prizes will be awarded on May 23 in Eisenstadt.
