With her feature film “Stars under the City”, which is currently showing, the 35-year-old, who for two summers as a paramour at the festival in her home state of Salzburg, made it very easy for all film lovers to take a heart for the cinema.
The OÖN film night in the Linzer Moviemento and the later screening in the Freistadt cinema were well attended, you experienced a wonderfully romantic, bittersweet film about the love story between Caro (Altenberger) and Alexander, embodied by the South Tyrolean Thomas Prenn (“The Great Freedom”). Their life together begins in the Viennese subway, which director Chris Raiber has filled with enchanting ideas – feathers trickle down onto the tracks like snowflakes.
Basically, Raiber’s car was “to blame” for the film, it was on strike, the director drove more subways, Altenberger said. Which triggered the romantic thought in him that it would be nice to use the info screens underground to send love greetings to his wife – the rest is film history.

The fact that Caro is suffering from cancer raised the question in the audience whether such a blow was necessary? It was agreed that having an antagonist like Krebs would bring the film closer to real life, but ultimately give more love – something the world needs more than ever. There was a lot of it in the Moviemento, where Altenberger sprinkled “stars under the city” cameraman Mario Minichmayr roses. Her appeal to actress Birgit Minichmayr’s brother not to hide his light under a bushel was almost as urgent as that for the cinema.
