The number of monthly listeners on the streaming platform is a key metric in the Guinness report. Abel Tesfayealso know as The Weekndhas 111.4 million monthly listeners.

It comes weeks after Tesfaye became the first artist and so far the only act in the history of Spotify to reach the milestone of 100 million monthly listeners.
The next artist on the list is Miley Cyrus, which currently has 82.4 million monthly listeners. Other artists behind The Weeknd include Shakira (81.6 million), Ariana Grande (80.6 million), Taylor Swift (80.2 million), Rihanna (78.5 million) and Ed Sheeran (77.5 million).
In January, the song “Blinding Lights” of The Weeknd surpassed “Shape Of You” by Sheeran to become Spotify’s most streamed song of all time.
Towards the end of 2021, “Blinding Lights” was also officially crowned the biggest single of all time on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song, which appeared on the album “After Hours” by Tesfaye and released in late 2019, it spent over 100 weeks on the charts.
